Can We Quit Calling This An Oil Spill?

June 14, 2010

If you haven’t heard about the oil spill in the Gulf by now, then hello, welcome to the world, hope you don’t miss the cave you were living in, you are on a computer and this is the internet…

All I want to say about this situation is that it needs to quit being called an oil spill. It’s not a spill, it’s a fucking leak, and a bad leak at that. A spill is what happens when your putting oil in your car and some spills out. Might be a little, might be a lot, but ultimately it is a known and finite quantity that can be handled in a reasonable way.

This is an oil leak and a leak is a far different thing. Carrying on with the car analogy, an oil spill with the car gets cleaned up, whereas an oil leak better be stopped and soon or your car is going to die. The earth is leaking huge amounts of oil, LEAKING, not spilling.

Check out the Gulf Oil Tracker for some real time leakage.

As they say in Egypt, Mushkelah (problem). Big time.

Here’s a few pics to make us feel all warm and fuzzy:

Well put Jason. Its time the media and politicians actually speak the truth about what is happening. Thanks for illuminating this. Ruth

This guy was the chaplain for the guys on the rig. He’s got the real data on what happened. And what’s happening.

Thanks Jason, for your wonderful and honest insight as always. My prayer goes to Mother Earth that we learn this lesson and learn it fast that we can no longer take advangtage of the beautiful gifts that are provided for us. Love and Light!
