I’m reading a fascinating book right now that you should check out. It’s called Virus Of The Mind by Richard Brodie. It’s about memes, units of information in a mind whose existence influences events such that more copies of itself get created in other minds (to paraphrase Brodie’s definition). Basically we get programmed, and have to learn to unprogram.
