Quote Of The Week – 8/19/09

August 19, 2009

This one’s a biggie:

God said to Moses, I Am That I Am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I Am has sent me to you.’

Exodus 3:14

Usually, I will give these quotes free of commentary.  For this one, because of the importance of what is being presented, I feel the need to add some commentary. This quotation is critical.

Please take it as a stand alone quotation. Remove all religious connotations, biases, thoughts, feelings, or otherwise and really begin to delve into what God says here to Moses – “I Am That I Am”.

The I Am, when it comes to the great foundational question of enlightenment “Who Am I?”, is the key that can unlock that door.

I Am. God instructs Moses to tell the Israelites (those who struggle with God) – “I Am has sent me.” I Am – The name of God as received by Moses – not Father, or Jesus, or Allah, or Flying Spaghetti Monster. I Am That I Am. That simple, that basic, that raw. A name that is undivided, encompassing, clear, and profound. The name of existence. The name of truth.

I Am.

Sit with that for awhile. See where it will take you.
